Planning your move

Do I need to rent a moving truck?

Yes! We provide the muscle to handle all the heavy lifting for your move. You’ll need to rent a moving truck or container separately.

How does your pricing work?

Pricing is transparent with a simple hourly rate per mover, with no hidden fees or surprise charges. You can view exact current rates on our website, booking page, or by calling our team for the most up-to-date pricing. We offer flexible options to match your specific moving needs, allowing you to customize your service based on the number of movers and hours required.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking as soon as you know your moving date, as our time slots fill up quickly, especially during peak moving seasons. You can always adjust the details later, and securing your spot early ensures you have a team reserved for your move. Feel free to book online or call our team to lock in your preferred date and time.

Is there a minimum charge for your moving services?

Yes, our minimum charge is for 2 movers for 2 hours.

What payment methods do you accept?

For booking services, we only accept card payments online through our secure platform. This ensures a smooth, contactless transaction process and allows us to confirm your reservation instantly.

Preparing for move day

How should I prepare for moving day?

Take the time to:

  • Box up all loose items.
  • Disassemble large furniture to ensure it fits through doorways.
  • Wrap fragile items carefully to prevent damage.

What supplies do the movers bring?

The movers bring all the essential lifting equipment for your move, including shoulder straps and a 2-wheel dolly. We highly recommend renting moving blankets with your rental truck so the movers can safely wrap your items.

Do I need to pack everything before the movers arrive?

We provide solely the "muscle" to handle all the heavy lifting, loading, unloading and rearranging! The movers are happy to use any blankets & shrink wrap you have provided with the rental truck to wrap your furniture.

Can I pack my clothes in drawers?

While you can leave clothes in drawers, it might make the furniture heavier. For easier and safer moving, it's recommended to pack clothes in boxes or wardrobe containers.

How do I prepare appliances for moving?

Ensure appliances are unplugged, clean, and dry. For items like washing machines, make sure they're drained and hoses are detached.

Are there items you won't move?

Movers will not move any special item handling such as: pianos, large safes, pool tables, major antiques. Any items 300+ lbs requires 4 movers to ensure safe transport.

During your move

What types of moving help do you offer?

We offer professional loading and unloading services for rental trucks, storage containers, and in-home moving projects. Our experienced teams can help with local moves, apartment relocations, specialty item handling, and both residential and small commercial moves. You can customize your service based on your specific needs, selecting the number of movers and hours that work best for you.

How does the tracking system work?

Our tracking system keeps you informed every step of the way. The day before your move, you'll receive reminder messages and emails with your Team Lead's name. On moving day, you'll get a real-time notification with your movers' location, similar to ride-sharing apps, so you can track their progress and eliminate any moving day anxiety.

Can I make multiple stops during my move?

Our movers will follow in their personal vehicles to all locations provided in the order, just make sure you reserve enough time to include travel in your booking!

Do I need to be present during the move?

It's best if you're around, so we can make sure everything goes according to your wishes. Plus, there might be questions or decisions only you can answer. But if you can't be there the entire time, just make sure someone you trust is there to guide us.

Do you assemble/disassemble furniture?

Our movers are happy to assist with basic assembly and disassembly. However, they do not provide tools. To save time and money, we recommend handling (dis)assembly before the movers arrive.

How do you handle moves during bad weather?

Can I extend my reservation time?

Movers are happy to extend the time! However, we can't guarantee it in advance because other moves might reserve the time slot immediately after yours or there might be other obligations. This is why we recommend reserving enough time in advance. If you find you have extra time, you can always give the helpers additional tasks during that slot, such as rearranging items or assisting with minor cleanup.

Policies & support

Are you fully insured?

Yes! Moving Muscle is fully insured. All our movers are background-checked, vetted, and thoroughly trained. With over 4,250 jobs completed, you can count on us for professional service.

What if I need to reschedule or cancel?

We understand that plans change! If you need to make any changes, call our dedicated support team at least 24 hours before your scheduled move. For changes made within 24 hours, there may be a small $50 fee to compensate for the movers’ blocked time.

How do you ensure items don't get damaged?

We train our movers thoroughly to handle your belongings with the utmost care. If you provide blankets and shrink wrap with your rental truck, our team will skillfully use them to wrap and secure your furniture. Our goal is to get your items to their new home safe and sound. And remember, we're the muscle – we're all about strength with care!

Is tipping customary?

Tipping is not required but always greatly appreciated. If you're satisfied with the service, a tip of 10-20% of the total bill per mover is customary.
